El Salvador man drowns in Lake Mohave

A man from El Salvador drowned in Lake Mohave Saturday afternoon, an official for the National Park Service said.

According to park spokesman Andrew Munoz, rangers found the body of a 23-year-old near Morning Star Cove on the Nevada side of the lake. Authorities did not release his name.

Witnesses saw the man swimming at the cove about 12:30 p.m. shortly before he went under the water, Munoz said.

Divers from the Metropolitan Police Department in Las Vegas will retrieve the body.
