Strip gets really wild

A thrill seeker named Donald Schultz is living in a glass box full of snakes in front of O'Shea's on the Strip.

Schultz, star of "Wild Recon" on Animal Planet, does crazy stuff on his show, such as milking spiders. The South African native also sky dives and races motorcycles. Does he have a death wish?

"No! I love life," he tells me. "When your life hangs in the balance, there's a clarity of being. ...You realize how important things are, like loved ones, versus money in the bank or a hot cup of coffee."

He's not afraid of snakes. But he fears spiders and horses because a horse bit him at a circus. ("I've been freaked out ever since.")

He showers and uses the bathroom behind frosted glass. People around the world are watching his webcam at animalplanet.com. And he leads Q&As at 11 a.m. each day until he exits Thursday.

I told him there are other "snakes" on the Strip: wealthy men who prey on young women and vice versa.

"I live in Los Angeles. Obviously there are lots of 'snakes' in Los Angeles," he says. "I think it's called 'Entourage.'"

THE OTHER JERSEY BOYS

The end of human brain cells in America continues tonight when the male Homo sapiens known as Pauly D and "The Situation" from MTV's media-fed "Jersey Shore" walk a 12:15 a.m. red carpet at Mirage club Jet. ... Katy Perry (so 2009) does an 11:30 p.m. red carpet Saturday at Aria club Haze. ... Lauren Conrad (so 2008) walks a red carpet at 11:45 p.m. today at the Bellagio club Bank. ... Corey Haim (so 1987) walks an 11 p.m. Saturday red carpet at Hawaiian Tropic Zone.

WANNA WALK ON COALS?

In Henderson on Saturday, clean-cut motivational coach Jordan Wirsz will walk on coals. And he's signing up other people to walk on coals as hot as 800 to 1,200 degrees, so they can "break through all of their self-imposed mental barriers." Cost: $399! But it comes with lunch. It's from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Wingate by Wyndham, 3041 Saint Rose Parkway. Registration is at 10:30 a.m.

COUGARS VS. THEIR NATURAL ENEMY

Middle-age women and younger male "cubs" crown Miss Cougar Las Vegas today at the Tropicana (7:30 p.m.-1 a.m.; $20 at the door).

Meanwhile, look for the cougars' natural enemy, younger women (Miss America contestants), roaming the Strip and shooting video for their Jan. 30 pageant at Planet Hollywood.
