Ex-boyfriend arrested for fatal shooting at Jack in the Box

LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL

An ex-boyfriend of a 23-year-old woman fatally shot earlier in the week at the fast-food restaurant where she worked was arrested Friday in connection with her slaying, Las Vegas police said Saturday.

Police said 26-year-old Kevin Gipson was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on no bail for the recommended charge of murder with a deadly weapon.

The identity of the deceased woman has not been released by authorities. Police said the slaying took place about 5:30 a.m. Thursday at a Jack in the Box restaurant at 7510 W. Lake Mead Blvd., near Buffalo Drive.

Witnesses told police the woman was arguing with a man in the parking lot when he shot her in the head. Police said Gipson fled the scene. Employees told police the victim had "some relationship problems."

The woman was taken to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
