Irish invade Don Laughlin’s Riverside

"The Irish Show," featuring singing star Elaine Canning, will perform Wednesday though March 17 in Don's Celebrity Theater at Don Laughlin's Riverside.

This unique group is the torch-bearer of the traditional culture of the celebrated and almost mythical islands of the west of Ireland. Inspired by the islanders of Inis Mor in Galway Bay, the show is made up of fast-moving, traditional music, Irish song and dance. It is the essential Irish experience.

This show captures the vibrant mood that this company of young musicians, singers, and dancers create on stage. "The Irish Show" is a journey of the living tradition and is an enjoyable cultural experience.

Canning is one of the most talented sopranos Ireland has ever produced. Her world-spanning adventure started back in 2003 when, fresh off her performances in a show called "Gaelforse" in Asia, she auditioned in London for "Lord of the Dance." The following week Canning flew to Las Vegas to begin rehearsals for her stint as the lead soloist.

Showtimes are 8 nightly with a 3 p.m. matinee St. Patrick's Day, March 17. Tickets are priced from $35.
