Standoff ends as man surrenders to police

A standoff between Metro Police and a man at the Summerhill Pointe apartment complex near Ft. Apache and Sahara ended this morning just before 7 when the man surrendered.

Police were reportedly responded to a domestic disturbance call at 2:30.

Negotiators and a SWAT team were called to the scene and Sahara was closed from Ft. Apache to Grand Canyon.

Some of the residents were reportedly evacuated to the apartment's clubhouse during the standoff.
