MUSIC

Jonathon Troy, principal clarinetist of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, will perform with Dan Beck on trumpet at 7:30 p.m. today as part of the Summer Music Series at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. The series is free, but freewill donations will be accepted (454-8484).

EVENTS

Central Christian Church will feature Lee Strobel, author of "The Unexpected Adventure," at its services at 4:30 and 6 p.m. today and 9, 10:20 and 11:45 a.m. Sunday at its Henderson campus, 1001 New Beginnings Drive. The author will be broadcast to the church's other campuses at the following times: 9, 10:20 and 11:45 a.m. Sunday at Desert Oasis High School, 6600 W. SERVICES

St. Bridget Roman Catholic Church, 220 N. 14th St., will have a novena in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with the Rev. Jude O. Mbukanma July 8-16. Confessions will be offered at 6 p.m. with the rosary at 6:40 p.m. and Mass at 7 p.m., followed by novena prayers July 8-10 and July 13-16. Confessions will be offered at 4 p.m. with Rosary at 4:40 p.m. and Mass at 5 p.m. followed by Novena prayers July 11-12 (384-3382).

MEETINGS

The Secular Franciscans of St. Margaret of Cortona fraternity meets at 12:30 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at Pace E Bene offices, 1420 W. Bartlett Ave. (453-2417).

CLASSES

Community Baptist Church, 245 E. Foster Ave., Henderson, will offer vacation Bible school for all ages at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A kickoff event will be at noon today. Registration is necessary to participate (565-0071).

The Rev. Jim Serada and the Vernon Howard Study Group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Boulder City Library, 701 Adams Blvd. (616-9317).

The Las Vegas Diamond Way Buddhist Group offers guided meditation and dharma talks at 7:45 p.m. Thursdays (260-4426).

SINGLES GROUPS
