Victim in incident believed to be murder-suicide is ID’d

The Clark County coroner's office today identified one person who died Sunday in what Boulder City police believe was a murder-suicide.

Carol Gaydos, 59, of Boulder City died of a self-inflicted gunshot, the coroner's office said.

Boulder City Police investigator Mark Dubois said a man believed to be Gaydos' father also was found fatally shot in the home at 884 Judi Place.

Police were summoned to the residence about 10 a.m. Sunday by a woman at the scene who was not identified. Police said the man who was killed was in poor health, but no other details were released.

The case remains under investigation, police said.

Gaydos was well-known in Boulder City for painting Christmas scenes on business storefront windows during the holidays.
