SPRING PHOTO CONTEST
The "brutal" winter weather is over. What a relief, wearing a sweater can be such a drag.
So fling open the door, stride outside -- and do something. How about taking some photographs?
Our photo project to capture the seasons of Southern Nevada moves into spring, when the weather usually is a little breezy but accommodating.
We're looking for pictures of Las Vegas and its immediate environs that are pretty, funny, pretty funny, or serious and dramatic. It can be scenery that takes our breath away or an incident that makes us laugh out loud.
The shot that wins us over will win its shooter $100.
If you're e-mailing or uploading photos, they should be 200 dpi and 5 inches wide or larger. We'll also accept good quality prints, but we won't return them.
Be sure to send a caption explaining what is going on and when and where the picture was taken.
The deadline is May 8.

The contest is open to readers of any age but there is a limit of two photos per contestant.
