NLV police say drowning of 2-year-old in pool accidental

North Las Vegas police say they have determined the drowning of a 2-year-old boy in a backyard swimming pool to be an accident.

Officer Chrissie Coon said Wednesday that the department will not forward charges in the case to the district attorney's office.

Patrol officers started CPR on the boy when they arrived at the home on Van Der Meer Street the afternoon of Jan. 19.

Emmanuel Alfredo Macedo then was taken to North Vista Hospital, but he later died.
