Here are a few of the things in news, entertainment and popular culture that we've been talking about lately.

* Israeli archaeologists discover a 2,000-year-old pearl earring outside of Jerusalem. It was right next to an empty 2,000-year-old vial of Botox.

* A member of Disney's "The Cheetah Girls" reportedly is the victim of an extortion attempt over nude photos of herself stored on her stolen laptop. On the upside, how angry can Disney be when one of its biggest stars -- Donald Duck -- has never worn pants?

* Ex-Hugh Hefner girlfriend Holly Madison reveals that Hef is "high maintenance." And that's just the daily sponge baths and cutting up dinner into teeny tiny pieces.

* Ben Affleck apologizes to Keith Olbermann over a brutal, hilarious impression on "Saturday Night Live." Meanwhile, the U.K. and the town of Hadleyburg continue to await apologies from Jonathan Swift and Mark Twain.

* MSNBC pundit Joe Scarborough accidentally says a very bad word on a live broadcast. "Bush."
