Here are some of the things in news, entertainment and popular culture that we've been talking about lately.

* The National Debt Clock had to be retrofitted to display the United States' current $10.2 trillion shortfall. On the upside, the clock also says it's a pleasant 86 degrees and wishes us a very nice day.

* Sheldon Adelson's net worth tumbles to the tune of billions after the stock market meltdown. Does Costco have a platinum card?

* Justin Timberlake and girlfriend Jessica Biel visit Las Vegas to stump for Barack Obama. Meanwhile, stumping for John McCain: The guy who was a guest star in that thing a while back.

* Sarah Palin blasts Barack Obama for the Democratic candidate's alleged ties to Bill Ayers. Thus giving Ayers more press than he received as an actual Weather Underground member.
