Basic downs Del Sol in boys volleyball

Anthony Gambone had 33 assists and eight digs Wednesday to lead Basic's boys volleyball team to a 26-24, 23-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-8 win at Del Sol.

Daniel Bowman had 19 kills and four blocks for Basic, and Austin Hafen added 10 blocks.

• Foothill 3, Liberty 0 -- At Foothill, Jordan Monga had 10 kills and 20 assists to help the Falcons beat the Patriots, 25-21, 25-14, 26-24.

Walter Coe added seven kills and five blocks for Foothill, and Greg Dickensheets and Cody Clay each had six kills.

Jamie Acayan led Liberty with seven kills. Brandon Reano added five kills.

• Coronado 3, Silverado 0 -- At Coronado, Howie Wu had 24 assists and four kills to help the Cougars to a 25-17, 25-21, 25-17 win over the Skyhawks.

Chris Austin added 14 kills and six digs for Coronado, and Jace Stoker had four kills and five blocks.

Talon Goon led Silverado with 17 digs and three aces. Trevik Jenkins added seven blocks and four kills, Mike Mark had seven kills, and Justin Close dished out eight assists.

• Green Valley 3, Tech 0 -- At Green Valley, Taylor Mitchell had 19 assists as the Gators beat Tech, 25-8, 25-15, 25-18.

Cameron Olsen had nine aces, and Jaime Ocampo added nine kills for Green Valley.

• Centennial 3, Palo Verde 0 -- At Centennial, Jeff Mecham had 33 assists and Spencer Olsen had 17 kills to help the Bulldogs beat the Panthers, 25-23, 25-23, 27-25.

Adam Nieman had 28 assists and Clayton Worthen and Tyler Capko each had 11 kills for Palo Verde.

• Shadow Ridge 3, Mojave 0 -- At Mojave, Jeff Elmer had six aces and eight digs and Preston Simper recorded 12 kills as the Mustangs beat the Rattlers, 25-8, 25-13, 25-12.

Tony Vaz had nine kills and five assists for Mojave.

• Arbor View 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 -- At Arbor View, Matt Ward tallied 29 assists and Ray Lewis had seven kills and six blocks to help the Aggies beat the Spartans, 25-17, 25-12, 25-18.

Nathan Stuart added six kills and five blocks for Arbor View.

Dustin Larsen had seven kills and six digs for Cimarron.

• Cheyenne 3, Legacy 0 -- At Legacy, Irvin Leu had eight kills to lead the Desert Shields to a 25-9, 25-14, 25-18 win over the Longhorns.

Daniel Moore added six kills for Cheyenne.

Brandon Paquain and Irwin Dizon each had three blocks for Legacy.
