HORSE RACING

TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

By Richard Eng

Post Time 1:20 p.m.

Race 1 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $24,000, Claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up

Fargo's Legacy - Suspicious drop in class off a nice victory; the field is so slow, even a little bounce can win this.

Formal Rush - Was a mere spectator last time and is now dropped in class; reunited with Joel Rosario who has ridden her well.

Long Shot - Plata Quemada

Race 2 - 6 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds and up

Texas Devil - Beaten favorite regressed off a good career debut; like that Joe Talamo exits others to ride this guy.

King Kang - Tepid chalk was favored in debut, showed good speed, then petered out late; Ted West takes the blinkers off.

Long Shot - Jammie Jon

Race 3 - 4 1/2 furlongs, Purse $48,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds

South of France - For the leading rider Rafael Bejarano to choose this FTS, that's all I need to see; has been working well.

Streamin Heat - Favorite due to the connections, Wesley Ward and Martin Pedroza; this pair knows how to boot and scoot.

Long Shot - Cosmic Queen

Race 4 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Donas Miracle Lane - Was running well in debut when Rosario dropped his whip in the lane; draws the rail post once again.

Little Brenda - Didn't run a step last time after a decent debut; she continues to work well, O'Neill switches to Tyler Baze.

Long Shot - Raise Again

Race 5 - 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $53,000, Optional claiming $25,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Sherry's High - Just got outfinished last time in a solid try; Joel Rosario has fast become one of my favorite jockeys.

Dine At Nine - Why not try a speedball when the turf rail is out 15 feet; she is a filly on the improve for Craig Lewis.

Long Shot - Pokomoke

Race 6 - 7 furlongs, Purse $58,000, Optional claiming $80,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up

Brendolyn - Aggressive boost in class off a sharp victory; caveat is she's stretching out in distance and switching to turf.

Political Web - Julio Canani barn is heating up since the racing returned to his home track; class relief facing these.

Long Shot - La Cocasse

Race 7 - 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $27,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up

Cable Dancer - I think the big favorite Umber is worth trying to beat; tactical speed and two good turf tries under his belt.

Anzisong - His race last time was not as bad as it looks; offers sleeper value at 5/1 odds, good tactical speed too.

Long Shot - Wellnessfast

Race 8 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Warren's Cookie - Jorge Gutierrez adds blinkers on for more speed, more focus; Rosario could finish up a nice afternoon.

Avada Kedava - Have to like the turn back in distance and the big drop in class; Jack Carava adds blinkers on the filly.

Long Shot - Foxy Like a Cat

Best Bet - Fargo's Legacy (race 1)

Hollywood Wednesday- Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 15/3/$15.20; Long Shots, 8/1/$8.20; Best Bet, 1/0/$0

Hollywood Totals - 265/72/$484.40; Long Shots, 132/8/$80.00; Best Bets, 16/7/$32.00
