Titus expected to announce candidacy for Congress

State Sen. Dina Titus will hold a press conference on Thursday where she is expected to announce her candidacy for Congress.

Democrats have urged Titus to run for the 3rd Congressional seat against incumbent Rep. Jon Porter, R-Nev., after former prosecutor Robert Daskas unexpectedly dropped out of the race on Monday.

Titus, the Democrats' nominee for governor in 2006, is scheduled to make an announcement regarding her intentions Thursday at 5:30 p.m. on the stairs of the Henderson Amphitheater.
