Silverado rallies for baseball win over Sierra Vista

Trevor Kirk's RBI single in the top of the seventh inning broke a 1-1 tie and gave Silverado's baseball team a 2-1 road win over Sierra Vista on Wednesday.

Jordan Keegan's run-scoring single earlier in the seventh tied the game.

Three Silverado pitchers combined on a one-hitter.

Centennial 7, Bonanza 3 -- At Centennial, Trevor Goff went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Bulldogs.

Nate Rink added a double and an RBI for Centennial.

Chasen Shreve was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for the Bengals.

Cimarron-Memorial 9, Basic 4 -- At Cimarron, the Spartans rallied for nine unanswered runs to defeat the Wolves.

Basic led 3-0 before Kody Gorden's three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning tied the game.

Cimarron then scored six runs in the sixth.

Kris Kaplan, Kas Smith and Taylor Doyle each had two singles and an RBI for the Spartans. Cimarron's Pat Thomas added a double and an RBI.

Mike Schulte was 3-for-3 with a home run and a double for the Wolves. Brett Wellman added a double and an RBI for Basic.

SOFTBALL

Cimarron-Memorial 2, Basic 1 -- At Cimarron, Andrea Bishop pitched a two-hitter to lead the Spartans over the Wolves.

Bishop struck out four and walked two. Paige Savage was 2-for-2 for Cimarron.

Basic pitcher Lacey Romo settled in after allowing two first-inning runs. She finished with a five-hitter.

Valley 9, Legacy 2 -- At Valley, Deena Dittman went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs to help the Vikings build a 6-1 lead after two innings and down Legacy.

Winning pitcher Lorena Villamar was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Kayla Murray was 3-for-3 and scored both runs for the Longhorns.

Shadow Ridge 9, Foothill 7 -- At Foothill, Rayna Bradshaw was 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBIs to power Shadow Ridge past the Falcons.

Winning pitcher Mandy Harmon belted a two-run homer for the Mustangs, who built a 9-0 lead after 41/2 innings and held on.

Brandi Yamka hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning for Foothill.

Sierra Vista 5, Coronado 4 -- At Sierra Vista, Desiree Laswell's two-out RBI single in the bottom of the fifth broke a 4-4 tie as the Lions edged the Cougars.

Ashley Krumme tripled with two outs in the fifth to score Andrea McIntosh with the tying run. Krumme then scored on Laswell's hit.

Krumme and Laswell each went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and two RBIs.
