Local arts center to host Halloween dance

A Halloween-themed dance will be offered Oct. 27 at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St.

From 7 to 10 p.m., the Don Burke Dance Band will play music from the 1940s to '60s, including swing, ballads, waltzes, Latin and other styles.

Participants are free to wear costumes, but they are not mandatory.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 on performance day. Group discounts are available for parties of 15 or more. Call 229-6383 for tickets and more information.

The arts center, which is operated by the Arts & Community Events Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services, features several dances throughout the year and presents numerous other programs.
