Board suspends licenses
William Plise, a prominent longtime Las Vegas contractor and developer, has had his four contracting licenses suspended.
Plise Development & Construction and its subsidiaries, Chaparral Contracting and Talon Electric, were the companies impacted by the Nevada Contractors Board's recent decision.
"(We) received nine complaints alleging possible (project) abandonment; failure to provide financial responsibility; and owning money," the board said in a statement. "The respondent has not attended administrative meetings, or responded to a request for financial information," it added.
Plise did not return calls for comment. Plise is responsible for building more than 2 million square feet worth of commercial properties throughout Southern Nevada.
Plise's most prominent projects include Rainbow Sunset Pavilion -- a 547,000-square-foot mixed-use complex in southwest Las Vegas.
Plise is additionally responsible for Centennial Corporate Center at U.S. Highway 95 and Ann Road in the northwest valley. The business park consists of a five-story, 125,954-square-foot office building, with a bank pad and retail area that includes Starbucks, a smoothie shop, and a salon and spa.
