Clark County Credit Union on Thursday announced that Matt Kershaw, chief commercial officer, has been appointed president and CEO of the Las Vegas-based financial co-operative.
Kershaw, 41, will assume the role in late August and succeed Wayne Tew, who has served as Clark County Credit Union President and CEO for 29 years.
“With more than 17 years in banking, Matt has demonstrated a strong commitment to learning, accepting new challenges and exceling at building relationships,” Eric Jorgenson, CCCU chairman of the board, said in a statement. “His vision for the future builds upon the foundation in place with an eye towards working closely with both the senior team and all staff in collaboration on how to best serve our members.”
By assuming responsibility as CCCU president and CEO, Kershaw will take the lead as the financial co-operative continues its planned focus and strategy on building its market share in the local market. Kershaw joined CCCU in 2005, leading project teams in developing new commercial lending initiatives, until becoming chief commercial officer in 2014.
“I feel very honored to be offered this opportunity to build upon a solid financial legacy. Security and growth are what I have in mind for our member/owners for the coming years,” Kershaw said in a statement.
