THIS WEEK'S BUSINESS PRESS POLL QUESTION

Log onto the Las Vegas Business Press Web site and let us hear your opinion on this week's question.

On the anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Bros. Holdings Inc., President Barack Obama said he remains "very optimistic" that Congress will adopt rules overhauling federal oversight of the financial-services industry this year. In addition to a Consumer Financial Protection Agency, Obama is trying to drum up support for plans to give the Federal Reserve Board new powers to monitor large financial firms' practices for systemic risk and new rules governing derivatives and for dealing with failing nonbanking companies.

Do you think there is still a need for a major overhaul of the rules and agencies overseeing the nation's financial systems?
