Company ordered to stop selling unregistered securities

The Nevada secretary of state's securities division on Tuesday said it ordered Leonard Benson and the Leonard Benson Co. to stop offering and selling unregistered securities until he and the securities are registered.

Benson's website offered investment returns of 36 percent to 100 percent on the Leonard Benson Private Gaming Fund, according to the state. He said investors could receive several hundred dollars monthly on a $10,000 investment and get their principal back in six months.

Secretary of State Ross Miller urged anyone who invested with Benson to contact his office.

"We can stop people like this most effectively with public cooperation," Miller said in a statement.
