Convention authority officials hope trip boosts attendance

In late June, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is hosting a trade mission to Mexico City and Puebla, Mexico.

The trip is an effort to increase attendees and exhibitors from Mexico at World of Concrete and promote the use of concrete and masonry in the commercial construction industries. The convention is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center each year and features more than 600,000 square feet of products, ideas and technologies from 1,300 exhibiting companies.

In Mexico, the delegation will meet with representatives from the Mexican Commercial Services, as well as officials from government agencies, trade associations and media related to the commercial construction industry.

World of Concrete 2014 returns to Las Vegas on Jan. 21-24.

The travel authority has conducted about 14 trade missions or trade show producers focused on increasing their international business, working with the U.S. Department of Commerce in countries such as China, Brazil, Panama and Colombia.
