Health care information classes scheduled today

If you’re unsure how federal health insurance reform will affect your business, several local organizations say they want to fill you in.

Advocacy groups including the Consumer Assistance and Resource Enterprise and the Small Business Majority will hold seminars today at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to help entrepreneurs understand the Affordable Care Act and share ideas about how to implement the law in Nevada.

The classes, called “Small Businesses, Big Challenges,” are scheduled to take place at 1785 E. Sahara Ave., Suite 360.

The seminars will look at the law’s benefits for small businesses, including tax credits, wellness grants and cost containment.

It also will update the state’s progress in setting up a health insurance exchange.
