Las Vegas real estate flips at 9.2 percent, down from ‘04 high

Fewer people are flipping over Las Vegas real estate. The percentage of people quickly buying and selling local homes for a fast profit in 2015 was about half of its boom-era high, according to a Wednesday report from a California research firm.

Pending home sales fall 2.5 percent in January

Contracts to buy previously owned U.S. homes fell to their lowest level in a year in January amid a persistent shortage of properties for sale, which could slow the housing market ahead of the spring selling season. The Las Vegas Valley’s housing market started 2016 on strong footing. The median local price of an existing single-family home rose to $219,000 in January, up 9.5 percent from $200,000 a year earlier, the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors reported Monday.
