Microsoft Surface Pro tablet arrives on valley store shelves

The Microsoft Surface Windows 8 Pro is available in stores today , including the brand’s retail location at the Fashion Show mall.

The Surface Pro tablet, powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, can run Windows 8 applications and Windows 7 desktop applications. Featuring a 10.6-inch screen, it starts at an estimated retail price of $899, available in 64 gigabyte and 128 gigabyte models.

Included with the tablet is a Surface pen and the Type Cover keyboard dock that doubles as a case. Panos Panay, corporate vice president of Microsoft Surface, will be at the Fashion Show store today to introduce the new device, which is the second tablet release for Microsoft.

Besides the Fashion Show store, Surface Pros will be available at microsoftstore.com, Staples and Best Buy.
