Nevada’s Big Give raises $413,048 for state nonprofits
Nevada's Big Give, a 24-hour online day of philanthropy organized by NevadaGives, raised $413,048 on Nov. 17 for more than 400 nonprofits statewide.
The total fell short of organizers' $1 million goal. But, in a statement, Nevada Gives board President Stacey Wedding said the event increased awareness of philanthropy in the state and "made giving fun, easy and streamlined."
Some 2,300 individuals donated during the event.
The Smith Center for the Performing Arts raked in the most money, with $27,283 donated to the local nonprofit.
