PUC consumer division extends hours for ratepayers hotline

Got a beef with a utility? Well, now, you have a little extra time to register your complaint.

The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada's Consumer Division has expanded its telephone hotline hours to let ratepayers call with concerns outside office hours.

Consumer Division staffers now handle phone calls from 7:30 a.m. to
5:30 p.m. weekdays. The commission's regular office hours remain 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The commission said it's using more efficient scheduling, rather than new hires.

The Consumer Division helps ratepayers with billing disputes, service-quality problems and other areas of conflict with utilities.
