Taxi service rated tops in new report

For the second year in a row, Las Vegas beat out other top domestic travel destinations for having the best taxi service in the nation, according to a new report from hotels.com.

Worldwide lodging provider hotels.com surveyed nearly 5,000 travelers from 23 countries in seven taxi categories: cleanliness; value; quality of driving; knowledge of the area; friendliness; safety; and availability.

"Kudos to Las Vegas cabbies for leading the pack of most favored cities including New York, Chicago and San Francisco," hotels.com public relations director Taylor Cole said.

Local taxis ranked first in four of the seven survey categories, topping the lists for best quality of driving, best value, cleanest vehicles and friendliest drivers.
