Three new commissioners named to state travel panel
The Nevada Commission on Tourism welcomed three new commissioners at its March meeting on Friday, Brian Ayala, attorney Herb Santos Jr. and John Wagnon.
“I’m very humbled to be here,” Santos, a Reno native, said.
Wagnon, senior director of brand marketing for Vail Resorts, is a former commissioner with the California Travel and Tourism Commission and a trustee with the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.
“Tourism is in my blood. I’ve been involved in it my entire life,” Wagnon said.
Las Vegas resident Ayala has been in the airport retail business for 25 years.
“I’m happy to be learning more and contributing,” he said.
In other group business, Commissioner Ryan Sheltra, general manager of the Bonanza Casino in Reno, was named vice chairman of the commission, through December 2014.
