Zippo retail store opens at Luxor, plans additional location at MGM Grand

Zippo, known for its windproof lighters, opened earlier this month at the Luxor and will open an additional location at the MGM Grand later this summer.

Custom designs will be exclusive to the new store, which will also carry lighter products, apparel, bags, fragrances, and small leather goods.

After experiencing success with its 14 concept stores in China, Zippo decided to bring their full retail concept to the United States. The company was founded in the fall of 1932 by George G. Blaisdell and has manufactured more than 500 million windproof lighters at its Bradford, Pa., factory.

The Luxor and MGM Grand locations are the first of three stores planned to open in Las Vegas in the coming year.
