Arizona man dies of injuries from Wednesday crash

KINGMAN, Ariz.— An Arizona man who was severely injured along with his wife in a Wednesday crash in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., died Thursday at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas.

Lake Havasu City police said Garold Cauthon, 73, died of head injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of SR 95 and Industrial Boulevard at 8:39 p.m. Sergeant Troy Stirling said Cauthon was operating a 2005 Bombardier Outlander ATV when he failed to stop for a red light, prompting the collision with a 2002 Toyota pickup truck whose driver was not injured.

Cauthon and his critically injured wife Ruth Cauthon, 71, were both transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center before they were flown to Sunrise.

Stirling said the Cauthons were not wearing helmets, alcohol is not a suspected factor and that the accident investigation continues.
