Arizona man faces 10-22 years in prison in slaying

KINGMAN, Ariz. — A Bullhead City man faces a 10-22-year prison term after pleading guilty Thursday to second-degree murder in the death of Michael Clark, 50.

First-degree murder and other charges were dismissed in the agreement for Jade Tracy, 23.

Prosecutors and police said Clark, a guest in the home of Tracy’s father, was beaten during an argument in September 2012.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Jace Zack said Tracy and co-defendants loaded the badly-injured Clark into the back of a pickup and Tracy drove him to the 1600 block of Highland Road, backed up at a high rate of speed and stomped on the brakes, throwing Clark onto the pavement.

Zack said Clark was alive but comatose when treated by emergency medical personnel at the scene. He died of his injuries after he was flown to a hospital in Las Vegas.

Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 3.
