Arizona man gets life in prison for killing his wife

A Lake Havasu City man convicted in the July 2010 shooting death of his divorce-seeking wife will spend the rest of his life in prison barring success on any appeal of his case, a report out of Kingman, Ariz. says.

Mohave County Superior Court Judge Steve Conn imposed a natural life prison sentence Friday for Jeffrey Cravets, 39.

Cravets spent 10 days in jail for domestic violence involving his wife shortly before Judy Cravets, 39, died of seven gunshots inflicted at the couple’s home in the 3500 block of Palo Verde North.

Prosecutor Jeremy Huss said she had an affair with another man while Cravets was in jail and that she asked for a divorce before she was killed.

Huss told the jury that Cravets left his wife’s body on the floor of their kitchen and was in and out of the home for a couple of days before calling police and lying that he came upon the homicide scene.
