Deceased in Arizona murder-suicide identified

Authorities in Bullhead City, Ariz., have identified two people who died in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

Bullhead City police spokeswoman Emily Montague said a man called 911 at 9:30 p.m. Sunday and told a dispatcher he had just shot his girlfriend and was going to kill himself.

Montague said responding officers located the body of 65-year-old Patricia Lee Hays in the kitchen of the home she shared with 63-year-old Michael Lloyd Brown in the Mirage RV Park on Merrill Avenue. She said Brown was found dead in a recliner, still clutching a small handgun.

Montague said it appears both victims died of a single gunshot to the head. She said evidence at the scene indicated a fight preceded the shooting and that Hays had a broken nose and bruising to her arms and face.

Montague said police had no prior contact with the couple.
