Drug task force finds $500,000 in pot during Mount Charleston raid

A task force recovered more than 500 marijuana plants worth an estimated $500,000 Thursday on Mount Charleston.

Las Vegas police said members of the Southern Nevada drug task force discovered the plants at Lovell Canyon, a rugged terrain about 20 miles north of state Route 159.

The task force moved in after a tip from a citizen.

Police said no arrests were made, and officers flying overheard before the raid could see individuals fleeing from the grow site. The evidence gathered could be used in future arrests, police said.
