Fire causes $45,000 in damage to vacant office

A vacant office on Boulder Highway near Sahara Avenue caught fire early Sunday morning, causing $45,000 in damage, according to Clark County officials.

County firefighters responded to the blaze at 12:35 a.m. at 3675 Boulder Highway after receiving reports of an explosion.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw that heavy smoke and flames engulfed the office consisting of two manufactured homes.

Firefighters had to cut through a locked gate to reach the blaze, county officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials speculate that homeless people might have illegally entered the property .
