Foothill High School teacher arrested on child sex charges

An English teacher at Foothill High School in Henderson has been arrested on allegations of being sexually involved with a child.

Amanda N. Brennan, 24, was arrested late Friday by the Metropolitan Police Department and booked into jail on two charges of luring a child to engage in a sex act and one charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the charges involved a student or if the alleged crime occurred on school grounds. Las Vegas police didn’t have any information available Saturday on the circumstances of the arrest.

Brennan will be placed on administrative leave and not allowed in her classroom or the school Monday, Clark County School District spokeswoman Amanda Fulkerson said.

While Brennan is on leave, the district will complete an investigation, and further administrative action against her could take place within 48 hours, Fulkerson said.

Brennan’s teaching license was issued in 2011, according to state certification records.

Brennan wasn’t listed as a jail inmate Saturday in the Clark County Detention Center’s database.
