Las Vegas police investigate fatal shooting at bus stop

Las Vegas police are still investigating the case of a security guard who shot and killed a man at a bus stop Wednesday night.

Police said the security guard, whose name was not released, shot and killed another man about 10:30 p.m. at a bus stop on Rancho Drive, near Craig Road, in the northwest valley.

Officer Marcus Martin said the security guard was confronted by a man who began taunting him. At some point, the dispute turned physical and the security guard shot and killed the man.

Martin said the security guard remained at the scene and detectives are looking for anyone who was at the bus stop.

The security guard has not been arrested but the case remains open.

"We still need to talk to more witnesses," said Martin, a spokesman.

The dead man's name will be released by the Clark County coroner's office.

Anyone with information on the case was asked to call the Las Vegas police homicide section at 702-828-3521.
