Man arrested in arson fire at Las Vegas motel

A 33-year-old man was booked into the Clark County jail on arson and other charges Sunday in connection with a motel room fire.
County spokesman Dan Kulin said James L. Washington was suspected of starting a fire Saturday night at the Motel 6 at 4125 Boulder Highway, near Desert Inn Road.
The fire occurred about 9:30 p.m.
One room was damaged, Kulin said.
Washington was booked on several charges, according to the Clark County Detention Center website, including first-degree arson, felon in possession of a firearm, resisting a public officer and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
