Man arrested in fatal shooting last week

Las Vegas police on Friday arrested a 27-year-old man in a fatal shooting last week in the northwest valley.

Donnell Patrick Pugh was nabbed in downtown Los Angeles by the FBI's Fugitive Task Force about 7:30 a.m. He is being held on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon.

Police believe Pugh was responsible for the shooting of 26-year-old Charles E. McCullough of Las Vegas at 1:08 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Evergreen Apartments, 5400 W. Cheyenne Avenue., near Michael Way.

McCullough and a woman, who has not been identified by police, were taking out the trash when they were shot. The woman suffered a gunshot wound to the lower leg and has been released from the hospital. Police have not released a motive in the slaying.

The small silver and white vehicle used to flee the scene of the incident has not been found, police said . Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
