Man charged with murder in death of boy

A man originally held for child abuse relating to the death of a 3-year-old boy has been charged with murder.

Ramiro Camacho Jr., 34, is facing additional charges that include battery domestic violence by strangulation, child abuse with substantial bodily harm and four counts of intimidating a witness.

Camacho is accused of killing Adrian Garcia, who died Tuesday from blunt force trauma to his head that caused severe bleeding and swelling in the brain. The boy also had second-degree burns on his face, according to Las Vegas police.

The boy and his four siblings were in the care of Camacho, who is the boyfriend of their mother, while their mother worked at a nightclub Sunday night. He is the father of one of the children, according to a police arrest report.

He initially told detectives he found the boy vomiting in the bathtub and asked a neighbor to drive them to a hospital. He later changed his story to blame the boy's injuries on the boy's siblings, the report states.

Camacho was arrested Monday morning and the other children were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.
