Man tells troopers he was shot while driving on I-15

A 49-year-old Las Vegas man suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning when he was shot while driving on Interstate 15, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The incident took place about 4:30 a.m. just south of the Valley of Fire exit.

The man, whose name was not released, told troopers he was heading south in a Saturn sedan when a gold Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban pulled up next to him.

"He heard a loud pop. Glass shattered, and he realized he was bleeding from the back of the neck," said trooper Loy Hixson.

The man pulled over and called 911. He was taken to University Medical Center.

Troopers weren't sure whether the man and the shooter knew each other, or whether they had an altercation before the shooting.
