Northeast valley bicyclist critically injured in hit-and-run collision

A bicyclist was in critical condition after a hit-and-run collision Tuesday night.

According to Las Vegas police, the bicyclist, described as a woman in her early 20s or late teens, was struck by a red car just before 8 p.m. near Christy Lane and Lake Mead Boulevard. The driver fled the scene, police said.

The woman was transported to University Medical Center. Police said it was unclear whether her injuries were life threatening.

Police have shut down northbound Christy Lane and eastbound Lake Mead Boulevard to investigate the crash.
