Paroled O.J. Simpson registers with Las Vegas police
Recently paroled O.J. Simpson was spotted at Metropolitan Police Department headquarters in Las Vegas on Thursday afternoon.
Metro’s public information office confirmed his appearance, adding he was registering to comply with the law.
He was released 12:08 a.m. Sunday from Lovelock Correctional Center in northern Nevada after initial reports he would be released from High Desert State Prison outside of Las Vegas.
Nevada Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Keast said prison officials released Simpson from Lovelock in the dead of night to avoid the media attention expected to accompany his release.
Simpson served nine years after a botched robbery involving two sports memorabilia dealers in a room at the Palace Station.
