Pedestrian, bicyclist hit in two accidents at same intersection

Two accidents within minutes of each other caused traffic to back up at the intersection of Charleston and Lamb Boulevards.

Las Vegas police said the first accident happened about noon and was a hit and run involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries.

While investigating that accident, police saw another accident at the same intersection, involving a bicyclist and a construction truck.

The bicyclist appeared to be in serious condition, although his medical status has not been officially updated yet, according to police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer.

Eastbound lanes on Charleston Boulevard were shut down while police investigate these accidents.
