Police seek suspect in fatal stabbing

A man was fatally stabbed Saturday night, and police need the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

Police were called to the 100 block of West Owens Ave. about 11 p.m. Saturday night after a man had witnessed a homeless man being stabbed . The person confronted the suspect, who then fled on a silver BMX bike, police said.

The victim was transported to University Medical Center, where he died due to his stab wounds.

A witness described the suspect as 5 feet 2 inches, and wearing a dark blue sweat suit, a blue hat and white tennis shoes, police said.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office pending notification of next of kin.
