A 28-year-old reputed pimp was indicted on charges he savagely beat and tortured women working in his prostitution ring.
Arman Izadi’s torture tactics on women included water-boarding, cutting them with knives, and threatening to send one woman plummeting to her death from his swanky condo overlooking the Strip at the Sky Las Vegas complex, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutor Marc Schifalacqua detailed a portion of Izadi’s tactics during a brief hearing Friday, when the indictment was announced.
The grand jury indicted Izadi on more than a dozen charges of pandering, kidnapping, battery and coercion.
District Judge Linda Bell ordered Izadi held without bail. An arraignment hearing was set for May 21.
Authorities said Izadi used charm to attract women to his business and intimidation to keep them, viciously beating them if they tried to leave.
Izadi was arrested last month by police and IRS agents.
The case against Izadi began in December, when one of his former prostitutes told police she had been tortured after she tried to leave him and the sex industry.
