Restaurant owner pleads guilty to tax evasion

The owner of a Las Vegas Japanese restaurant pleaded guilty in federal court this week to evading roughly $244,000 in taxes.

Myong Ho Pak, 68, who entered his plea on Monday, runs the Yama Sushi restaurant on East Flamingo Road.

According to his plea agreement, Pak failed to report to the Internal Revenue Service cash receipts from his restaurant from 2008 through 2010. He owes $55,908 for 2008, $78,466 for 2009 and $109,671 for 2010.

Pak agreed to pay $244,000 in restitution.

He is set to be sentenced Dec. 9 before U.S. District Judge Andrew Gordon.
