Squabble on courthouse steps ends with lawyer getting slapped

A lawyer got slapped outside the courthouse early Tuesday during a squabble with a private investigator trying to serve court papers.

Scott Holper, who runs Vegas Ticket Masters, was hit with an open-handed slap by Robert Lawson, the private investigator.

Lawson was cited for misdemeanor battery, Las Vegas police said.

Witnesses said Holper flopped to the ground in pain after he was struck outside the Regional Justice Center. An ambulance took him to the hospital.

Neither man returned repeated phone calls for comment.

Lawson is married to Susan Benedict, a top Clark County prosecutor.

City of Las Vegas prosecutors will handle the case.
