State reports death of Northern Nevada inmate

A 69-year-old inmate at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center died Monday, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Leslie Warner, who had a chronic medical condition, died at the correctional center’s Regional Medical Facility.

Warner, who was sentenced in Washoe County, was serving a life sentence with the possibility of parole for sexual assault involving a victim under 16 years of age, 10 years for two counts of statutory sexual seduction, and 10 years for lewdness with a child under 14 years old. He had been incarcerated since 1993.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Carson County coroner’s office.
