Sunday apartment fire causes $150,000 in damage

An apartment fire displaced two people and caused $150,000 in damage Sunday afternoon, Clark County officials said.
County firefighters were alerted of the blaze at 5:30 p.m. at the Sonoma Hills apartments, 5100 E. Tropicana Ave., near Nellis Boulevard.
The fire was caused by cigarette ashes that were improperly discarded on a patio. The apartment where the fire began was damaged heavily while its neighboring upstairs unit sustained minor damage. One person received minor injuries but was not hospitalized.
